Computer Science Faculty was founded in 2004 on the base Information Faculty of the National Aviation University. The faculty contains three graduating departments: computer information technologies, applied computer science, software engineering. The Faculty provides training in educational levels "Bachelor", "Specialist" and "Master" for the following directions:
Computer science - covers methods and tools of information processing technology and information design technology;
Software engineering - covers methods, tools and technologies of software development and maintenance.

Direction 6.050101 "Computer science"
"Computer science" is the advanced direction of computer study.
Computer science - one of the developed computer areas.
Students fundamentally study information technologies in various contexts, acquiring information technologies methods and applying the most advanced tools for these purposes. As information technology is closely associated with information systems that underpin the software kernel of any computer system, students learn not only techniques for working with information systems, but also their structure, programming specifics.
Extensive use of computer information technology makes a specialist in this industry as a key figure in any enterprise. Nowadays it is impossible to imagine the operation of any modern bank, or commercial enterprise, or state institution without information systems’ usage. Students are given the opportunity to learn the whole spectrum of modern information technologies and corresponding systems.  

Direction 6.050103 "Software engineering"
"Software engineering" is an modern student training direction in Ukraine, and its occurrence is the requirement of time.
Software engineering bachelors are provided with deep knowledge in all aspects of software development, maintenance and use.
Students study program development in a context of various programming languages, based on engineering principles and program design methods, knowledge of which is impossible for competent software development. Study of these methods is conducted with application of the advanced technologies and tools.
The purpose of software engineering is  designing, development, and maintenance of a big software ( program with  millions instructions) , in  time, without wasting extra money, achieving its necessary quality. For this purpose students study both the structural and object-oriented analysis and design, testing, verification, maintenance, software cost estimation and software administration. Billions are invested in Software Engineering branch of the economy of any developed state. Qualified management is wanted while implementing of big and small projects in the branch. The project manager’s job is the most crucial and highly paid position in computer industry hierarchy.

At the moment, in conditions of globalization, the software development with Internet usage is widely spread. Therefore our students study the Internet software.
