Computer Science Faculty was founded at National Aviation University in 2004 on the basis of Information Faculty. The faculty structure comprises three graduate chairs: computer information technologies, applied computer science, software engineering. The faculty provides expert training within graduation such levels as "Bachelor", "Specialist" and "Master" in the following directions:

Computer science - covers methods and ways of information technologies processing and information technologies designing;

Software engineering - covers methods, means and technologies of software development and software maintenance.

Direction 6.050101. Bachelor training - "Computer science"

"Computer science" is the advanced direction of computer study.

Experts on information systems and technologies are training at the faculty in the "Computer science" direction.

Students fundamentally study information technologies in various contexts, acquiring information technologies methods and applying the most advanced tools for this purpose. Information systems which make a basis of a system software kernel for any computer system are closely linked with information technologies. Students study not only information systems operation methods, but also their structure, and programming features.

All-round application of computer information technologies makes the expert in this field a key figure at any enterprise. It is impossible nowadays to imagine the operation of any modern bank, or commercial enterprise, or state institution without information systems usage. The student has an opportunity to get acquainted the whole spectrum of modern information technologies and corresponding systems.

The future experts will work in national economy branches where information systems and technologies are used.

Direction 6.050103. Bachelor training - "Software engineering"

"Software engineering" is an up-to-date student training direction in Ukraine, and its occurrence is the requirement of time.

Experts on all aspects of development, maintenance and use of any computer software are training in the "Software engineering" direction.

Students study program development in a context of various programming languages, proceeding from engineering principles, acquiring program design methods, knowledge of which is imperative for competent software development. Studying of these methods is conducted with application of the advanced technologies and tools.

The purpose of software engineering is the big software (millions program instructions) designing, development, and maintenance for the predetermine time, without wasting money, achieving its necessary quality. For this purpose students study both in the structural and object-oriented analysis and designing, testing, verification, maintenance, software cost estimation and its administration. From the investment point of view, the software engineering is a milliards capital inputs field for any developed state economy. Big and small projects which require the qualified management are realized in the branch. Therefore students study to solve in collective tasks of a substantiation, planning, ensuring the economic efficiency and qualitative and duly realization of projects. The project manager job is the most crucial and highly paid post in computer industry hierarchy.

At the moment, in conditions of globalization, the software development with Internet application is widely spread. Therefore our students study the Internet software.
