 Software engeneering department
The head of the department is Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor Sidorov Nickolai Alexandrovich.

Bachelor of Computer Sciences Degree
Master of Computerized Systems Software Degree

The department was established in 1967. The head of the department is Sidorov Nickolai Alexandrovich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and professor.

The department stuff consists of highly skilled professionals. There are three Doctors of Technical Sciencies, one academician and two professors; five Candidates of Technical Sciencies, assistant professors; two senior instructors and six assistants among them.

Since 1992 the department prepares bachelors in 0804 "Computer science", and specialists in 7.080403 "Computerized systems' software". In 2000, for the first time in Ukraine, the department began to prepare specialists in 7.080403.00 "Computerized systems' software", 7.080403.01 "Internet software" and 7.080403.02 "Software in business and management".

Such specialist should know several programming languages, up-to-date tools, technologies of software creating and maintaining, modern operational systems, computer architectures and networks.

Term of education: specialist degree - 5 years & 6 months, masters degree - 5 years & 10 months. After graduation, students will be qualified in programmer-engineer speciality. Magistracy and external studies programs are available for students.

This department offers following courses: "Fundamentals of programming and algorithmic languages", "Modern programming languages", "System programming and operating systems", "System software", "Fundamentals of artificial intelligence system design", "Functional and logical programming", "Applied software", "Object oriented analysis and software design", "Mathematical methods of information computation system modeling", "Theory of algorithms and computation processes", "Theory of operating systems", "Computer aided software engineering", "Internet programming", "Fundamentals of WEB-design", "Fundamentals of filing in Intranet", "Project management of software".

Students of this department have an opportunity to learn new methods and technologies of design, development, maintenance and liquidation of software. They also get familiar with basis methods of the marketing, project management of software systems, and become proficient in such programming languages as: Assembler, Pascal, C++, Modula - 2, 3, Java. Students also learn how to operate database management systems(FoxPro, Informix, Interbase, SQL Server). They get hand-on experience in software development (Delphi, Visual C++) and WEB-sites development (HTML, FrontPage, Flash, Perl). They acquire knowledge and skills in working with network (Internet, LAN) and applied (AutoCad, Unigraphics Solution, Matlab, Lotus) systems. Students also learn following operating systems: DOS, UNIX, Linux, OS-2, Windows.

For educational purposes, the university uses up-to-date computer base of the faculty department; and bases of Antonov Design Bureau, and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine organizations. The department maintaines friendly relationships with many home and foreign organizations such as Institute of Applied Information Science, design office "Yuzhnoe", SIC "Hartron", Antonov Design Bureau, "Electronic Data Consult" company (Germany), and number of scientific and educational organization in Russia.

Information Technologies department

Acting head of the department is a Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor Ziatdinov Yuriy Kashafovich.

The computer information systems and technologies department was established in 1971. Since 1979 the department is being recognized as an interdepartmental educational; scientific and methodical center in the field of practical usage of flight information, aircraft maintenance control, and aircrash prevention.

Graduates of the department are prepared for positions in aircraft transport enterprises; aircraft industry; research and design organizations in the field of diagnostics, objective control, and different forms of computer usage in civil aviation, and other branches of national economy.

Preparation of specialists is financed by the budget of Ukraine (only for the citizens of Ukraine), and on the base of contract. The e-mail is available for all students at their desire. For the first time in 2001, an enrolment in English groups was held (all disciplines are taught in English language).

The educational process is provided on modern basis, which include: a local area network, connected to the Internet; licensed software such as OS UNIX, DBMS INFORMIX, and others. The department prepares BACHELORS, SPECIALISTS and MASTERS for the research, development, design, maintenance and usage of computer systems.

The department prepares:
- Bachelors in 6.0804 "Computer sciences", speciality - "Information control systems and technologies" The graduate is getting higher education in "information systems and technologies". He is qualified for such positions: software engineer, and engineer of computerized management and control.
- Masters in 7.080401 "Information control systems and technologies".The graduates receive qualification master on information managing systems and technologies

Clases are held by highly qualified instructors and well-known specialists of enterprises, which develop modern information systems and technologies.

Applied computer science department

Acting head of the department is a Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor Fabrichev Vladislav Anatolievich

 

Is based in 2001 for teaching disciplines on fundamental and applied sections of computer science, realization of scientific researches in sphere of the newest information technologies. The faculty will carry out educational process at all faculties of university.

In structure of faculty 22 teachers, among which 3 professors, doctor physical and mathematical and engineering science, 4 senior lecturers, candidate of sciences.
